I don't know la if I am a fan of Adira AF8 tu, but since she's from Ranau too dan memang her vocal sangat superb, so tak salah kan. Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, ai tetap peminat you kehkeh pedulilah orang nak cakap apa about your personal life.
Adira adalah artis yang rasa lebih dekat sebab, first, I met her twice. Waktu penuhi undangan ke majlis kahwin dan kebetulan dia ada juga, dan lepas tu menang pula contest Innershine and the prize was jengjengjeng dapat makan malam bersama Adira dan Ema kehkeh. Dekat Grand Borneo Hotel, remember?
Then bulan lepas Tari Kirana dapat offer buat persembahan kebudayaan untuk event Koperasi Walai Tokou Homestay (sila lihat point ke-enam dalam entri tersebut), kami pergi waktu 22-23hb Januari dan I met new people, dan waktu berborak-borak adalah yang mention Adira anggota performer KMS untuk Walai Tokou Homestay juga sebelum masuk AF8 dan jadi artis.. ohhh.. dan sekarang ni dapat menyanyi lagu tema untuk Awan Dania. Ohhhh...
More about Kinabalu Merdu Sound (KMS) :
The band''s roots began in 2001 with a humble group of 5. To reach its objective of reviving traditional ethnic music at the brink of extinction due to modernization, the band aimed to recruit the youth and school children as its members. The Kinabalu Merdu Sound''s efforts have been rewarded as the group has now grown into an assembly of 600 musicians.
This group has now performed all over Sabah and Kuala Lumpur and there have even been performances in Jakarta, Korea and Japan. This group has emerged as champions in the national level ‘Ilham Desa'' (loosely translated it means ‘countryside inspirations'') competition which was organised by the Ministry of Rural and Federal Development held on the 14th June 2007 at UPM in Selangor. The group has also produced an album entitled ‘Muzik Tradisi Instrumental'' which features instrumental traditional music.
The use of the bamboo as a musical instrument in traditional music had its beginnings in 1945. Among the earliest instruments were the Tagunggak (percussion instrument), sompoton (wind instrument), bungkau (Jew''s harp) and gendang (drums). However, traditional music played with bamboo instruments was not the music enthusiasts'' cup of tea at the time because it was a farmer''s past time and was played only during harvest festivals. The group has undoubtedly succeeded in changing this conception and begun to raise a widespread admiration towards the once-unloved bamboo melodies.
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Yang Berhormat Datuk Masidi Manjun stated that Kinabalu Merdu Sound''s talented musical expressions will certainly capture the world''s heart, establish Sabah''s valuable musical heritage in world music and offer another peek into our unique traditions which will certainly entice more visitors to come here to witness Sabah''s well-preserved tapestry of wonderful practices and customs. - petikan.
Apa kaitan Kinabalu Merdu Sound (KMS) dengan Walai Tokou Homestay (WTH)? Saya pun tidak sure sebenarnya. Tak habis kaji lagi. HAHA. But yang saya tahu, boleh dikatakan KMS adalah produk WTH. Pengurusnya KMS orang yang sama coordinator WTH dan uncle tu juga orangnya yang offer Tari Kirana buat performance wakil WTH. Precious! Thanks Uncle Kohadie Watiman.
I admired KMS since the day I got to know the group waktu 2007, sebab diorang buat persembahan untuk majlis perkahwinan my cousin, kakak kepada salah seorang penari Tari Kirana. The bamboo sound sedap didengar, bukan macam band yang guna peralatan moden. Bingit telinga mendengar.

Itulah antara yang specialnya undangan performance Tari Kirana ke Kundasang tempoh hari. Got to know the people there, I met this one guy - just a friend ya - salah seorang performer KMS, dan saya tengok dengan lebih jelas lagi how they all work. Very humble group of people, I have to say.. And their passion in traditional music and its instruments, saya honestly kagum.. Itu belum lagi masuk how they perform. Aku yang tengok ni enjoy sangat-sangat. Rugi tak ambil video (- -")

Okey next entry I might update our activity waktu mula-mula sampai Kundasang sampailah kami pulang semula ke rumah masing-masing. We really had blast. More pictures to come! =)
